Prior to the meeting, on 27 November, Cambodia organised field visits to mined areas and post-clearance sites in northwest Cambodia, to the Kean Klaing Rehabilitation Centre and to the Oudong Demining Training Institute. In addition, Cambodia staged an opening ceremony involving the following dignitaries:
- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen
- Minister Attached to the Prime Minister of Cambodia and 11MSP President, H.E. Prak Sokhonn
- UNDP Administrator Helen Clark
- ICBL Youth Ambassador Song Kosal
