Agenda Item # 11.D: Consideration of the general status and operation of the Convention:  Assisting the Victims

The session began with a statement from Mr Armin Kohli, who took on the challenge to raise awareness of the dangers of landmines by bicycling all the way from the shores of Lake Geneva to the shores of the Dead Sea, covering over 4,800 kilometers.

Sudan, in its capacity as Co-Chair of the Standing Committee on Victim Assistance and Socio-Economic Reintegration introduced the matter of assisting the victims and provided an update on the status of implementation of the Convention in relation to victim assistance.
