National workshop to prepare for the 11MSP | 4-5 April 2011, Siem ReapOn 4-5 April 2011 in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the Cambodian Mine Action Authority convened a national workshop to prepare for the 11MSP and to review the status of implementation of the Convention by Cambodia. The event served as the launch for the ICBL’s “push for progress” campaign which sought to ensuring progress would be made in time for the 11MSP in clearing mined areas, assisting victims, providing the necessary funding and resources, and, pursing universal adherence to the Convention.
Standing Committee on the General Status and Operation of the Convention | 24 June 2011In keeping with past practice, the 11MSP President-Designate presented, to the Standing Committee on the General Status and Operation of the Convention, a set of initial ideas and a draft agenda and programme for the upcoming Meeting of the States Parties. The Co-Chairs concluded that there was general agreement with approach proposed by the President-Designate as well as with the draft agenda and programme.

Regional seminar on addressing the human costs of anti-personnel mines | 20-21 September 2011, Phnom PenhRepresentatives of eleven Asian nations gathered in Phnom Penh on 20-21 September 2011 to discuss efforts to address the human cost of anti-personnel mines. The seminar, hosted by the Cambodia Mine Action Authority in collaboration with the UNDP and the ICRC, was one of the main events in the build-up to the 11MSP. |
