Vanuatu ratified the Convention on 6 September 2005, and the Convention entered into force for Vanuatu on 1 March 2006.

Stockpile Destruction (Article 4)

In its initial Article 7 report submitted on 31 August 2006, Vanuatu reported that it did not know the number of stockpiled anti-personnel mines under its ownership or possession.

In 2008 Vanuatu reported that "Vanuatu does not have stockpiles of anti-personnel mines in areas under its jurisdiction or control. Further, Vanuatu noted "that this information supersedes the information provided in the report submitted on 31 August 2006."

Mine Clearance (Article 5)

On its initial transparency report Vanuatu indicated that there were areas under its jurisdiction or control in which anti-personnel mines were known or suspected to be emplaced. 

In 2008 Vanuatu reported "Vanuatu does not consider that there are areas under its jurisdiction or control that contain or are suspected to contain anti-personnel mines." Further, it noted that the new information should "supersede the information provided in the report submitted on 31 August 2006."
