Mexico ratified the Convention on 9 June 1998, and the Convention entered into force for Mexico on 1 March 1999. Stockpile Destruction (Article 4) Mexico reported that it had no stockpiled anti-personnel mines under its ownership or possession. Mine Clearance (Article 5) Mexico reported that there were no mined areas under its jurisdiction or control.
