Geneva — The Convention's Implementation Support Unit (ISU) has received new contributions from States Parties, including most recently by Japan. The Japanese Ambassador to the Conference on Disarmament H.E. Nobushige Takamizawa recently announced a contribution of nearly CHF90,000 to the work of the ISU. The Ambassador is seen here with the Convention's ISU Director, Juan Carlos Ruan.Ambassador Nobushige Takamizawa also expressed Japan’s appreciation for the work carried out by the ISU on behalf of the States Parties. In addition to Japan, 18 other States Parties have either supported the ISU’s 2017 Work Plan or have provided written confirmation that funds are forthcoming. These include: Australia, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Jordan, Mozambique, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and the United Kingdom. In addition to these contributions, other States Parties committed support to the ISU during the Second Pledging Conference.
