Find all photos of the Second Pledging Conference here.At the Fourteenth Meeting of the States Parties the decision was adopted to hold, on an annual basis, a conference of States Parties to collect pledges and contributions with the aim of obtaining an overview of the funds that can be expected for the Convention’s Implementation Support Unit (ISU) in line with the ISU’s four year work plan 2016-2019. The decision also indicated that this conference should be chaired by the Presidency. On 28 February 2017, Austria in its capacity as President of the Sixteenth Meeting of the States Parties, held the Second International Pledging Conference for the Implementation of the Convention with the aim of renewing and strengthening commitment to the principles of the Convention and to commit resources for implementation including through pledges of financial support to the ISU 2017 work plan and budget and the Convention's Sponsorship Programme, as well as to mine action programmes and projects internationally. The 2017 Conference was chaired by H.E. Thomas Hajnoczi, Ambassador of Austria. The Pledging Conference also emphasized the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the work carried out under this Convention, by ensuring that the costs for Meetings of the States Parties are paid in full. A total of 47 delegations attended the Conference including 36 States Parties, 2 States not party, and 9 non-governmental organisations and international organisations. Keynote addresses
