1.     Opening of the meeting

The meeting was opened by its Co-Chairs, Ambassador Yoshiki Mine of Japan and Ambassador Matern Y.C. Lumbanga of the United Republic of Tanzania, with the support of their Co-Rapporteurs Hamza Khelif of Algeria and Ingrid Kressel of Estonia.

2.     Overview of the status of stockpile destruction

The Co-Chairs delivered a statement on the status of implementation of Article 4 of the Convention. This was followed by a presentation by the ICBL on its views with respect to Article 4 implementation:

3.     Updates from relevant States Parties on the status of implementation

The following State Party which has recently completed its destruction programme provided an update:

In addition, the following States Parties which are in the process of fulfilling Article 4 obligations provided updates on their efforts:

4.     Updates from relevant States Parties on the status of transparency reporting

The Co-Chairs provided an opportunity for States Parties that have not yet reported their stockpile status in their Article 7 transparency reports as required to provide updates. No State Party took the floor during this agenda item.

5.     The destruction of previously unknown stockpiles

The Co-Chairs provided an opportunity for States Parties to provide updates on stockpiles discovered after stockpile destruction deadlines have passed. No State Party took the floor during this agenda item.

6.     Cooperation and assistance in the destruction of stockpiled anti-personnel mines

The Co-Chairs provided an opportunity for States Parties in a position to do so to provide updates on assistance for the destruction of stockpiled anti-personnel mines:

7.     Matters of a thematic nature related to stockpile destruction

The Co-Chairs provided an opportunity for updates and discussion on a number of thematic areas concerning the fulfillment of Article 4 obligations, particularly those identified in the Zagreb Progress Report:
