Sao Tome and Principe ratified the Convention on 31 March 2003, and the Convention entered into force for Sao Tome and Principe on 1 September 2003. Stockpile Destruction (Article 4) Sao Tome and Principe reported that it had no stockpiled anti-personnel mines under its ownership or possession. Mine Clearance (Article 5) Sao Tome and Principe reported that there were no mined areas under its jurisdiction or control.
