The spirit of the Ottawa Convention and its significance for humanitarian disarmament

On 28 March, at a symposium at the Higher Institute for Defence in Brussels which featured the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid, Belgium highlighted "the spirit of the Ottawa Convention and its significance for humanitarian disarmament."

Princess Astrid of Belgium, a long-standing supporter of the Convention, also inaugurated the photo exhibition, "Landmines: Treacherous Weapons" at the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces in Brussels.

The exhibition is free and open to the public until 28 June 2013.
