10b.i Consideration of the general status and operation of the Convention: Mine clearanceThe Co-Chairs of the Standing Committee on Mine Clearance provided an overview of the general status of mine clearance. The following States Parties which have completed implementation of the Convention’s mine clearance obligation since the 11MSP tabled and / or presented declarations of completion: Congo, Denmark, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Jordan and Uganda:
The following delegations shared views with respect to some of all of these declarations : the ICBL and the ICRC. The following States Parties which have previously been granted extensions on mine clearance deadline provided updates on their efforts to implement Article 5 of the Convention (with extended deadlines in brackets): Chad (1 January 2014), Mozambique (1 March 2014), Venezuela (1 October 2014), DRC (1 January 2015), Eritrea (1 February 2015), Yemen (1 March 2015), Mauritania (1 January 2016), Senegal (1 March 2016), Peru (1 March 2017), Algeria (1 April 2017), Ecuador (1 October 2017), Thailand (1 November 2018), Bosnia and Herzegovina (1 March 2019), Croatia (1 March 2019), the United Kingdom (1 March 2019), Argentina (1 January 2020), Cambodia (1 January 2020), Chile (1 March 2020), Tajikistan (1 April 2020) and Colombia (1 March 2021).
